What is Nic Salt?

Nic salts (also called salt nic or nicotine salts) are a newer type of e-liquid that differ from standard ‘freebase’ nicotine. Nicotine salts contain a naturally occurring, organic form of nicotine extracted from the tobacco leaf.

The key ingredient that makes nic salts effective is an added acidic compound (such as benzoic acid). This allows the nicotine to vaporise at lower temperatures and increases its bioavailability in the lungs.
