What are the Different Types of Vape Tanks?

Disposable Tanks

Designed for convenience, disposable vape tanks are ideal for beginner vapers who want a simple and easy way to vape. Usually paired with more basic mods, these tanks are refillable and have a 2ml e-liquid capacity. Keep refilling and using the tank until the coil gets old and burns out. Then, instead of fiddling around with rewicking or changing the coils, simply swap out the tank for a new one and recycle the old one.

Mesh Tanks

These have become a popular option for mods and usually below 0.25ohm resistance, able to provide sub-ohm vaping for most devices. Mesh tanks and coils are designed with holes in the metal to increase the surface area in contact with e-liquid whilst reducing their overall size. This optimises the reaction between the e-liquid and coil and allows for more flavour and bigger clouds with every puff. It also makes them slightly smaller and lighter, so they’re great for travelling and when you’re on-the-go.

RTA Tank

RTAs, or rebuildable tank atomisers, are powerful tanks for mods. Unlike an RDA (rebuildable dripping atomiser), they have a tank to hold e-liquid but still have a rebuildable deck for DIY coil builds. They usually allow for sub-ohm vaping and are a great choice for beginner and experienced vapers.

Sub Ohm Tanks

Sub ohm tanks include coils or atomizers that have less than 1ohm resistance, hence the name. If you have a high wattage device, you’ll want a tank with a sub ohm coil, as high resistance coils heat up quicker and may burn out quickly. Low wattage devices can work with a higher resistance coil, as they won’t overheat the coil as easily.

We also stock a range of vape accessories for your tank, including mesh coils, hemp cotton and replacement glass. If you’re new to vaping and aren’t sure where to start, read our beginner’s guide to vaping to get up to speed. It’s important to choose the right tank for your vape. Not all vape tanks are compatible with all mods, so check the manufacturer’s guide (that should come with your device) to find a full list of compatible tanks for your device.

How To Clean Vape Tanks

It’s very easy to keep a vape tank clean. Empty the e-liquid from the tank and use warm water to rinse any remaining vape juice left inside. Then use a dry cloth or tissue to dry out the tank. We recommend leaving it to stand for half an hour after to be certain that any remaining water has evaporated away.

Be careful not prevent anything getting into the tank like dust and bits of tissue paper, you don’t want that in your liquid! Disposable tanks get around this problem, as they are recycled once they become unusable.
